There is an immediate need to educate and improve our citizens' understanding about the important issues/policies discussed in anticipation of the November 2, 2010 national election.

Subject: Assemble FACTS about national, state and local issues in one website destination
-----------
Jan and I continue our quest to help educate people. We are introducing FAST - "Facts Are Stubborn Things."

FACT:
The 2,700-page Obamacare law passed early this year imposes a 3.8% tax on home sales and other real estate transactions in the coming years. On a $200,000 home this equals $7,600. This is a major change in the tax burden on middle-income people (and all taxpayers) who must pay this full tax upon their house sale.

Political campaigning, with its bias, omissions, emotional appeals and competitive rhetoric, does not help the electorate understand the facts behind most issues. There is an immediate need to educate and improve our citizens' understanding about the important issues/policies discussed in anticipation of the November 2, 2010 national election.

An informational website could be created where FACTS about specific national, state and local issues are listed, detailed and evaluated. A candidate or entity that simply advocates just the "pro" or "con" position, without consideration of the critical facts, does a disservice to the voting public. Facts always exist. Facts are stubborn things, they never disappear!

Opinion leaders, information organizations (media) and influential individuals involved in the U.S. elections of 2010 are invited to contact us concerning the idea to "state the facts" in a central place on the web = FAST.
Our objective: give permission to use our informational websites (we own Factsarestubbornthings.com, FactsRstubbornthings.com, Factsarestubborn.com and FactsRstubborn.com) for presentation and advancement of the hard facts surrounding issues in the political campaign.

To implement this process, we hope you or one of your associates will contact us to discuss your interest to use factsarestubbornthings URLs. Policies implemented in the last two years, and those currently proposed, demand that the American voter be given the facts!

Another FACT:
The 2,700-page Obamacare law passed early this year has what people call the "individual mandate." If a person does not buy sufficient "government health coverage", in 2014 that individual will be liable for a tax of 1% of his/her taxable income. By 2016 that tax will rise to 2.5% of the payer's taxable income. Example: If your taxable income is $50,000 in 2014, you will pay an additional tax of $500, and you will pay $1,250 additional tax in 2016.

Jan and I have been educational entrepreneurs on the web since 1995. The goal of www.MyVocabulary.com has always been to increase literacy and improve reading comprehension. Our goal with "factsarestubbornthings" is to continue to educate people.

Famous Quotes about "Facts" include:
John Adams (1735-1826)
"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion(s), they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence."
Reference: Argument in Defense of the Soldiers in the Boston Massacre Trials, December 1770

Mark Twain (1835-1910)
"Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please."

Two political cartoons drawn by Carey Orr are both timely and topical for the USA National Election 2010. They were drawn 50 years ago. To quote a friend, it seems "the more things change the more they stay the same. Human behavior never changes, situations change."
